Rare Blackpool excursion for Class 37s

On September 4, 37676 Lord Rannoch and 37516 Loch Laidon top-and-tail the Branch Line Society’s ‘The Ribble Ranger’ charter, as it gets under way from Blackpool South. It is believed to be the first locomotive-hauled train to run during daylight hours on the South Fylde Line for approximat­ely 30 years. Other stations on the charter’s route included Preston, Colne, Hellifield, Keighley, Bradford Forster Square and Interchang­e, Blackburn and Lancaster.
