Rare Blackpool excursion for Class 37s
On September 4, 37676 Lord Rannoch and 37516 Loch Laidon top-and-tail the Branch Line Society’s ‘The Ribble Ranger’ charter, as it gets under way from Blackpool South. It is believed to be the first locomotive-hauled train to run during daylight hours on the South Fylde Line for approximately 30 years. Other stations on the charter’s route included Preston, Colne, Hellifield, Keighley, Bradford Forster Square and Interchange, Blackburn and Lancaster.
