EMR support for period scheme

East Midlands Railway is to offer employees free sanitary products following the launch of a new staff period dignity scheme.

The move follows a suggestion by members of EMR’s Women’s Employee Network for free period products to be made available at work.

EMR Human Resources Director Kate Holden said: “While periods are part of everyday life, some people can feel stigmatised by their effects or by the subject. We want to address this issue directly and hope by launching this project we can help colleagues across our network easily access sanitary products.”
