EMU derails at Liverpool Central
Trains were disrupted in Liverpool on October 28 after a Merseyrail three-car electric multiple unit derailed at Liverpool Central during the afternoon.
It ran through a catch point on the reversing siding at the station, disrupting trains between Sandhills and Hunts Cross.
A driver was in the cab at the time, and a train manager was on board, but no one was injured in the slow-speed derailment. An internal inquiry is under way.
The EMU was rerailed by DB Cargo that evening, and is now back in service, says Merseyrail.
