CLASS 50 Alliance / GBRF Class 50s 50049 Defiance and 50007 Hercules collected ex-East Midland Railway HST power car 43048 from Long Marston on November 18, 2020 and delivered it to Leicester LIP for the 125 Group. The group had taken ownership of the power car in October, but it had remained in temporary store at Long Marston until it could be moved to Leicester. Upon arrival it joined HST Mk 3 trailers TF 41057, TS 42111 and TFRB 40730, which the group had also just taken ownership of and moved to Leicester earlier in November. This is the second power car for the group. Having taken ownership of 43089 it promptly put it out on a short-term hire to
Rail Operations Group for use with the test train it employs in a joint collaboration with Network Rail and Data Acquisition & Testing Services Ltd (DATS). 43089 was back at Leicester in time for the arrival of 43048.
