Livery Changes
PREVIOUSLY IN line to receive Grand Central black, 90039 emerged from the Toton paint shop in early December still in its normal colour but as the latest departure from DB’s corporate look. Sporting white ‘I am the backbone of the economy’ lettering, it also carries a full length spine graphic and small DB logos. The livery has already appeared on the continent where it adorns two of DB Cargo’s Vectron electric locos.
Newly outshopped from Eastleigh Works is 57305, which has swapped its Northern Belle colours for the black version of the Rail Operations Group livery, complete with the blue graphics. Still owned by DRS, it now carries plain blue beneath the full vinyl wrap. Across the road at Arriva Traincare’s Eastleigh Depot, additional power cars 43208 and 43239 were repainted into Cross Country colours before departing for Laira.
Finally, among the latest Pendolinos to receive Avanti vinyls on the driving cars is 390042, this bringing the demise of its yellow face mask adornments.
