CONSIDERALBE PROGRESS was made during the testing of GB Railfreight’s newly converted Class 69 69001 (ex-56031) during its recent visit to the Severn Valley Railway. After its arrival at Kidderminster on February 15 the loco was immediately put to use with testing runs. Light and loaded test runs were undertaken, allowing for the computer systems to be set up, and some driver training also took place. It departed the SVR on March 12 for Crewe and then Longport, where it arrived on the 15th. There it joined up briefly with 69002 (ex-56311), before the latter headed to Eastleigh Arlington for painting behind 66706 as the 0G69.
