Rare EPB for sale

A RARE opportunity has arisen to purchase a three-car Southern Region EMU, with the placing on the market of the Class 415 EPB unit based at the Northamptonshire Ironstone Railway. It is being offered for sale as a result of a bereavement and comprises Driving Motor Brake Seconds 14351-352 and Trailer Second 15396, which have been stored on the line for the past 19 years. All are said to be in very good condition.

This unit was first preserved in full 4-EPB form at the Mid-Norfolk Railway, but moved to Northampton in 2002 when its second trailer 15354 went to the former Electric Railway Museum at Coventry. Three of the similar 2-EPB units were preserved, but this was the only four-car version to have survived. The fourth vehicle from the set is now at the One:One Collection site at Margate, having been transferred there following the closure of the Coventry Museum.
