J27 to visit the North Tyneside Steam Railway

RECREATING IMPORTANT history in the area, LNER J27 0-6-0 65894 will be visiting the North Shields-based North Tyneside Steam Railway (NTSR) for its 30th Anniversary Gala on July 11. Its terminus in Percy Main used to be a regular stomping ground for J27s, with Percy Main shed almost exclusively filled with them until the closure of the depot in February 1966. 65894 which was once based in the area, is visiting the NTSR courtesy of the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group (NELPG) and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR).
