Obituary - Bryan Hicks
RESPECTED RAILWAY photographer Bryan Hicks passed away peacefully at home in Leamington Spa on June 1 after a long illness. He was 89. Bryan had a passion for railways and was a prolific photographer of the railway scene in the Midlands, taking colour slides from 1962. As well as documenting the end of steam he photographed the early diesels with interest and had a strong affection for the WR diesel hydraulics. Away from his Warwickshire home, the railways of Devon were of particular interest and he took many great images in the county, which was one of his favourite haunts during the 1970s and 80s. He is survived by his three sons, Anthony, David and Jon.
