AVAILABLE FROM selected stockists, this is the latest of Roger Harris’ detailed examinations of the disposal of BR coaching stock. This volume primarily covers the various parcels, bullion and miscellaneous vehicles, including the very numerous BG, CCT and GUV full brakes/vans, which numbered well into the thousands and could be found right across the UK rail network. It is a little more complicated to follow as all three types of vehicles were renumbered several times in their later lives. As a result, some histories are listed under the final number carried, so you’ll need to jump between pages for many vehicles’ full stories.
The book runs to 153 pages and follows the design layouts previously used, giving the withdrawal date for each coach along with substantial details of subsequent storage and disposal for scrap, preservation or other use. The level of detail provided is enormous and most welcome to anyone with an interest in BR rolling stock.
