Daytime testing of Island Line Class 484s begins

South Western Railway Island Line Class 484s, 484003 and 484002, pause at Botley station on July 14, while carrying out a test run from Fareham to Fareham, via Eastleigh. This was the first time the units had been out of Eastleigh Works on daytime testing. These units will soon be joining 484001 and 484004 on the Isle of Wight, where they are due to enter service over the coming months. No date for the launch of the renewed Island Line services has yet been given, although an announcement is expected shortly. Mark Pike
