SEPTEMBER MARKS a busier month for diesel events at our various heritage lines. As this issue of Railways

Illustrated closed for press, details on most of the September events, in terms of visiting locomotives and full line-ups, was still awaited, but we will aim to bring you more information in the next issue.

Gareth Evans Newly delivered to the Nene Valley Railway is former Transport for Wales Class 143 ‘Pacer’ 143602, which stands on the turntable at Wansford on July 3. A full summary of the surviving Pacer fleet will be contained in a future issue of Railways Illustrated.
