Scenery Vans leave Eastleigh for the Mid Hants Railway

TWO MK1 Scenery Vans have found a new home in preservation after many years in internal use and then store at Eastleigh depot. Very similar to Mk1 GUVS in design, these vans were allocated to train ferry traffic and classified as freight stock as a result. Later used for departmental stores traffic, ADB889201 and ADB889203 became internal users 083644 and 083664 at Eastleigh in the early 1990s and have remained there ever since. Both were removed by road to the Mid Hants Railway on June 18.

The other two examples also still exist, B889200/03 being located at Stewarts Lane for use as stores vans by Belmond.
