Class 220 at Kennaway on June 23, 2012

Another shot from Dawlish, and whilst I know many people dislike the Voyagers, for me this image typifies the Devon coast, with the vibrant sandstone, secluded coves and stunning coastal views the train journey offers. Crosscountry, in partnership with Arriva, used to run a photographic competition, with cash prizes, as well as a yearly award for the best photo in the entire Arriva group. I was fortunate enough to win First Prize in 2012 for this image, but it was also awarded Photograph of the Year, much to my surprise!

I was sent a canvas print from Arriva, and to this day it sits behind my bed, and I’m delighted to have at least one achievement to my name!
