158841 at Barmouth on June 5, 2018
Wales is a beautiful country, so green and dynamic, yet still very under-visited for me. I put a stop to that in 2018, with a selection of visits, ticking off the great little trains of Wales along the way.
This day involved the Fairbourne Railway, which I did to the end of the line before crossing the Afon Mawddach to Barmouth, where I grabbed this photo of 158841 crossing the magnificent Grade II listed 820 metre-long wooden bridge, before walking across it and back to Fairbourne.
This view is one of the finest rail sights anywhere in Wales, and the narrow gauge railways are highly recommended as an extra reason to visit this stunning part of the country.
