Yet another Dawlish photo? Sorry, but let’s face it – when was the last time you saw a bucket load of snow at the seaside?

I for one have only seen a decent plastering of snow along the coast here twice in 36 years, so this image goes into my top 10 for its rarity alone. Aside from that, I really like the scene too.

The light was pretty awful, but in reality it actually helps with the mood of the shot in my opinion. It’s also another demonstrat­ion of the awesome capability of Britain’s most successful train, the HST, soldiering on in all weathers, carrying passengers on some of the longest journeys in the country...
