OVER THE past few years Tom Mcatee has become an established name amongst the photographers that regularly have images published in the various railway magazines, including Railways Illustrated.

However, the advent of photography using drones has seen Tom largely move away from the more traditional lineside photography, becoming something of a master in drone technology to capture our railways from the air. He has now self-published a 2022 calendar of drone photography, capturing some of our finest railway locations with a bird's-eye view.

All of the chosen images have a lot of visual impact and, while there are a couple of steam images featured for the April and July pages, as well as on the cover, the other images feature more modern locomotives from Classes 37, 43, 47, 60, 66, 68, 70 and 88. Produced on high-quality paper, sized 34cm x 24cm, with a gloss laminated cover and excellent reproduction quality of his images, this calendar would be an excellent addition to the wall of any enthusiast and deserves to be a sell-out.
