10 Pictures: Noel Slack
This issue we feature 10 Pictures from Noel Slack.
Another fantastic selection of eyecatching photography, with Noel Slack showcasing his personal choice of ’10 Pictures’.
Noel’s interest in railways started in the early 1970s when, as a youngster, his dad would take parcels to their local station at Beeston in Nottingham and Noel would go with him. There he saw
‘Peaks’ speeding through the station while his dad booked the parcels in.
By the early 1980s Noel’s interests in railways and trainspotting had grown and he regularly travelled locally between Nottingham, Leicester and Derby until he was trusted enough by his parents to travel further afield. After buying his first camera in the mid-80s, photography was always a bit hit and miss due to restricted finances. Three Freedom of Scotland rovers in consecutive years provided some fantastic photographic opportunities.
Like many other young enthusiasts, Noel lost interest in railways when other aspects of life intervened, but in 2003 when working as an optical engineer, he was in a financial position where he could buy some decent photography kit and his interest in railways was renewed.
These are Noel Slack’s 10 Pictures.
