Further arrivals at Great Yarmouth

-

A PREVIOUSLY unrecorded arrival at Great Yarmouth carriage sidings is Mk.2d BFK 17164 from its long-term home of Dalton in North Yorkshire. Now owned by Eastern Rail Services, it is the latest Mk.2 to be exhumed from many years of open storage, during which time it was repainted into BR blue and grey, although its external condition is now once again poor.

Also now at Yarmouth are former Chiltern Railways Mk.3a TSO 12094 and another ex-dalton vehicle, Mk.2c SO 6415, both arriving in the second half of August following the end of their filming commitments in Swansea.

Two vehicles involved in this filming, Mk.3s 40402 and 44015, have been sold to the production company by ERS and are expected to go for scrap. ERS has also bought 44089 for spares recovery, the former Grand Central reserve vehicle having spent a number of years in store at York Leeman Road.
