With its modernisation completed, Mk3 TS 42096 was released from Doncaster in late August, it being taken by road to Inverness to await insertion as the fifth coach in a Scotrail HST set. Meanwhile, August 18 saw 66745 deliver 12 Mk4 coaches to Doncaster from Worksop.

These are the first of the additional vehicles for Transport for Wales to go for overhaul and included six from the aborted Grand Central operation, 10318, 11319, 12211, 12310, 12434 and 82201 having formed set GC01. Also in the consist were 10305, 12215, 12304/15/24 and 82220 which were in ex LNER condition.
