A notable use for four of the Mk3 coaches operated by the Rail Operations Group came on September 2 when 12125, 12154, 12176 and 12180 were employed as brake force runners on the transfer of 769936 from Burton Wetmore to Wolverton. Powered by 57310, Mk1 translator­s ADB975875 and ADB977087 were also used to couple to the Class 769. On September 10/11, 12125 and 12154 were in more convention­al action when employed on Derby to Barrow Hill shuttles with 10249, 10406 and 11101. The occasion was a real ale festival at the roundhouse with 37510 and 57312 as power on the first day with the Type 3 then swapped for 37601.
