Livery Changes

-

Two HST power cars now sport new looks with Locomotive Services’ 43049 returned to Intercity Swallow at Neville Hill (page 16), while 43468 has received the two-tone grey Rail Adventure scheme at Eastleigh Works.

At Toton, 66748 has undergone a full repaint into GBRF blue and orange, losing the obsolete Europorte livery elements but gaining new slogans for workplace safety.

East Midlands Railway has resumed the application of its interim vinyls to the Class 222 fleet after a long hiatus, while 156402 has returned from overhaul at Wolverton finished in Northern blue and white. Eventually destined to leave for the franchise, it carries EMR branding.

With Grand Central’s 180112 now involved in a trial using liquefied natural gas for fuel, car 59912 has been given a green stripe instead of orange to promote this.

Carrying on the green theme, Prime Minister Boris Johnson unveiled a vinyl wrap to Great Western Railway IET 800313 proclaiming the environmental credentials of electric trains and rail travel, as part of the rail industry’s We Mean Green campaign.

Lastly, the third of Transport for Wales’s present Mk4 DVT fleet has received its charity vinyls, the multi-coloured branding on 82216 promoting the Hope House Children’s Hospice.
