Naming Update

-

In the run-up to Christmas and with the country tackling the rise of the omicron variant of coronavirus, there have been no locomotive or unit namings during the period under review.

However, three locomotives and two East Midlands Railway Class 222 Meridians have had their names removed.

As the former Greater Anglia Class 90s lose their white and grey colours in favour of the attractive orange and black livery of new owner Freightliner, most of the locomotives are losing their nameplates, many of which carried East Anglian themes Likewise, the vinyl nameplates that had been applied to 222003 and 220017 have gone from the two Meridians when they lost their now-defunct Stagecoach-inspired East Midlands Trains livery for the purple and white East Midlands Railway colours.
