Class 40 Appeal releases new book dedicated to 40012
THE MIDLAND Railway – Butterley-based Class 40 Appeal (CFA) has released a new book chronicling the history of 40012 Aureol.
Written by CFA chairman Paul Hill, the limited edition 180-page hardback book, titled The Life & Times of D212 Aureol, has been released to assist in raising funds for the ongoing preservation and maintenance of 40012.
The book details the history of the locomotive throughout it life, including its British Rail operating days, its departmental use in connection with the Crewe remodelling works, and in preservation.
