Refresh for the North Norfolk Railway’s suburban coaches

THE NORTH Norfolk Railway has commenced a spruce-up of its set of Mk.1 suburban coaches, involving a fresh application of BR crimson along with coats of varnish to the non-gangway 57ft stock.

Completed by mid-december were CL 43041, S 46139 and SLO 48001, with BS 43357 in progress. In addition, December 1 saw recently restored BCK 21224 temporarily depart the line for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, where it will be fitted with a retention toilet tank, allowing its use over Network Rail metals to Cromer.
