Logs substitute as 70007 heads through Blea Moor on February 15, 2019

To record the contrast between old and modern infrastruc­ture, I’d wanted to make a foreground feature of the rusted buffers and

CCTV camera at Blea Moor, while also including the iconic signal box in the background. I think this was my third trip lugging various pieces of equipment a mile up to this position before actually achieving this shot with a partially deployed telescopic pole. As it turns out, the working itself, being 6J37, the Carlisle to Chirk logs, is notable for this locomotive being on loan from Freightlin­er to Colas.
