D400 and 50007 passing Sherborne Old Castle ruins on May 24, 1992.

I’ll begin my 10 Pictures with the oldest out of my selection, which took place on one of the hugest weekends of my life. My beloved Blackpool FC had won at Wembley on the Saturday, before a 3am alarm call had me driving back south on the Sunday.

This was the day of the final Class 50 runs on the Exeter to Waterloo route. Being huge Class 50 fans, both me and my mate felt this was massive. So we lined up with more than 50 other photographers to take what I feel was the best view on the whole line. I remember the farmer being none too impressed at the invasion of photographers!

D400 and 50007 Sir Edward Elgar pass the

12th century ruins of the original Sherborne Castle while working the 10.41 Exeter to Waterloo train on May 24, 1992. This is a weekend that will remain with me forever.
