37505 on the Causeway at Golant on June 26, 1999.
Back in the day, one of my favourite places in Britain for photography was Golant in
Cornwall. I fell in love with the place on my very first visit, as the single track lane led me past quaint cottages before revealing the stunning lineside... a place that had everything for a holiday with a young family. Class 37s, a small football pitch, and a real ale pub.
I took many photographs in the area but this is my favourite, showing 37505 growling over the causeway with an empty china clay working from Fowey Harbour.
The photograph was taken from an old chap’s garden, with the necessary permission from the resident concerned, of course.
