37425 Sir Robert Mcalpine/concrete Bob on the Cumbrian Coast on May 9, 2017.
Here we have 37425
Sir Robert Mcalpine/ Concrete Bob pounding along the Cumbrian Coast, working 2C47, the 17.31 Barrow to Carlisle on May 9, 2017. This is another of my favourite photographic locations. The beach at Nethertown, pictured as the tide goes out. Perfect timing for me, as many of the rock pools were left holding water.
I well remember being able to hear Concrete Bob for an age before the locomotive finally appeared.
Before that I could hear only the sound of passing oystercatchers and the shifting tide behind me.
This, to me, was the perfect way to end a day’s superb photography.
