Man caught with 94 drug wraps

A READING man has been jailed and banned from driving after being caught with nearly 100 drug wraps.

Pierre Atangana, 29 and of Kennet Walk, was driving a Ford Transit van that was stopped by Thames Valley Police at 2pm on Wednesday, January 24.

A search found 94 wraps of drugs with a street value of about £2,000.

A phone was also discovered, and there was evidence it was being used to arrange to meet members of the public to sell crack cocaine and heroin.

Atangana was charged with the following day.

On Friday, April 5, Atangana was jailed for two years and six months, and forbidden from getting behind the wheel for two years.

A forfeiture and destructio­n order was made in relation to drugs, phones and cash.

Investigat­ing officer, PC Chris Boylan of the Stronghold team in Reading, said: “Our Stronghold team will proactivel­y target offenders to bring them before the courts.

“Our message to drug dealers is clear, we know who you are, and we will arrest you.
