Top marks to David Silver. His company seem to get a lot of stick on various online forums, mostly due to his pricing. OK, these silencers were £486 delivered, but I ordered them Friday and they arrived one working day later. Quality is superb and they’re about twice the weight of the originals! Fitted in moments, they look fantastic. Where else can I just pick up a phone and order obscure parts for a fifty year old Honda and get them off the shelf?

Today’s service stars are Dave and Leigh at D&C Classics in Cowling. I took my 1963 Triumph Tiger for an MoT. Imagine my embarrassm­ent when the front brake cable nipple pinged onto the floor when bit of kit too – nearly too good to put on a motorbike. I might just keep it for show on the mantleshel­f, on a nicely polished bit of wood. It’s that nice. Oh, and it was €107, delivered.
