SERVICE STARS!

-

I phoned North Leicestershire Motors at a quarter to five last night, for a couple of small parts for my rare-ish Morini 250. Was served by a knowledgeable and friendly voice, who assured me that they had the stuff. They’d be able to get the parts in a large letter so the postage wouldn’t be excessive, and would get them off as soon as poss. The prices were also good.

The spares arrived with the postman at 9.30 this morning! Thank you, NLM. Ed Webb, member 4676

Recently my 1985 GoldWing trike insurance was due, and as usual the premium had increased a lot. I was told by the present insurer that due to my age – six months off becoming an octogenarian in– I wwould find d it very hard for anybody else to insure me, although I am fit, don’t wear glasses, etc. I’d taken notice previously of other RC members’ dealings with Hagerty Insurance and thought I had nothing to lose. Let’s give them a bell, see what they could come up with.

I spoke to an operator called Dan, who was very helpful and seemed to know what motorcycles were all about. My premium is now very much lower while the policy offers the same benefits as my previous insurer. When all my classic bikes come up for renewal I will definitely get in touch with Hagerty again – I can certainly recommend them.

Well done Rowena, you deserve a medal for the information you’ve passed onto the RC members. Keep up the good work: fab magazine, very informative – especially the readers’ letters and Frank’s ramblings. Brian Pickersgill, member 5849

Delighted that the system of RC recommendations could help, Brian. That’s exactly how the Service Stars suggestions are supposed to work! Our own excellent insurance experience is with Lynbrook, who this month swapped some bikes around on our policy with minimal fuss… and no tedious ‘admin fee’! Top marks all round. Rowena
