THINKING OF BUYING?

-

Prices for oil-in-frame T120R Bonnies range from around £4000 private to £8000 trade, although surprisingly we struggled to find many standard examples. There seems to be a trend for converting the sweet 650s to big-bore 750s, which seems a tiny bit strange as you can typically buy a T140 for less cash. Here are a few which have been on the market recently – and a couple may still be up for grabs if you’re quick…

OWENS MOTO CLASSICS in Stafford have this recently restored 1973 example up for sale at £8k. It’s no longer a 650, and has been bumped up to 750 with a Morgo conversion, plus high comp pistons, electronic ignition and a long list of other upgrades

PEMBROKESHIREHIRE CLASSICS also l have h a T120 now converted to 750, this time in café racer guise. It’s a 1973 machine which started out as a T120R frame matched to a low-compression TR6P engine, recently converted with a Morgo top end and oil pump, plus new wheels and tyres and reconditioned cosmetics.. Yours for £6995

AT LAST! A T120R which is still a 6650. This is a 1974 five-speed UK edition which has covered just 7500 miles and has been professionally restored. It might still be available on eBay from a trade seller for a sniff under six grand

MOSTLY STLY UNRESTORED UNRESTORED. This 1971 model T120R was sold to its first owner in France. By 2009 it had travelled only 11,000 miles, and since then has added only 1500 more miles to that total. The petrol tank has been repainted but otherwise it’s not been restored. £7995 from a private seller
