While walking around the race paddock at the Leighton Hall hill climb last month, I came across a 1982 Triumph TSS Bonneville. According to the owner, Brian, it was an ex-Anglo / Meriden Triumph race bike, one of the last to come out of the race shop at Triumph. Brian bought the bike to take part in hill climbs and this was his first outing.

I also saw this lovely-looking Arial Square Four with a few mods. It’s been fitted with an oil Cooler and engine crash bars, and it also had a Royal Society Of St George badge fitted to the headlamp. Just behind it was an equally lovely Velocette.

The bikes taking part in the hill climb ranged from a 1929 Rudge Whitworth to a 2018 Triumph Street Triple. There was also a 2007 Triumph Rocket 3 – I bet that was a handful to keep in check. I had a great day watching the racing. It was well worth the £8.50 ticket cost, so much better than watching football on a Sunday! Iain Houghton, member 2124
