RC173 just landed in my let­ter­box here in Aus­tralia, and I just wanted to thank you for mak­ing it hap­pen. I thor­oughly en­joy the read, mix of ar­ti­cles and writ­ing style, and ap­pre­ci­ate the ef­fort it must take to pro­duce some­thing in­ter­est­ing and dif­fer­ent each edi­tion. RealClas­sic re­mains as my only sub­scrip­tion.

I re­cently re­ceived my in­sur­ance re­newal, and chuck­led (not that there’s much to find amus­ing in an in­sur­ance re­newal) when I no­ticed that the in­surer (who spe­cialises in clas­sic cars and bikes) had ap­plied a $500 ex­cess for dam­age caused by rac­ing my ma­chine. The bike in ques­tion is my 1954 BSA C11G – a 250cc pow­er­house re­put­edly put­ting out 11bhp and with a top speed ap­par­ently ap­proach­ing 62mph. Is there a new class of rac­ing be­ing in­tro­duced that I’m un­aware of, have I stum­bled upon a de­sir­able clas­sic that will knock Vin­cents and Ve­lo­cettes from their perch, have T120 own­ers have some­thing to fear?
