ENFIELDS A-PLENTY

-

The sporty Continental GT (as seen elsewhere this issue) is very fashionable right now, which inevitably pushes up the price. However, it’s worth checking the large auctions for bikes like these in the early lots: there’s one listed for sale in late March at an H&H sale with no reserve and a big stack of spares. It’s been stored for quite a while but doesn’t appear to need much work to get it back into action.

This 1965 GT pictured here starts and stops ‘as it should’ according to the vendor, and hasn’t seen much use since its restoration in the mid-1990s. It cleaned up well, and sold quite quickly last winter.

?? ?? If we listed all the Bullets you could buy on our budget then this issue would be full of nothing else, but several other Royal Enfield models can also be acquired for our £3000. This Crusader 250, for instance, might still be available at Pembrokeshireclassics.com (01834 860505) for £2995. It’s the upgraded Sport version, a favourite of teenage tearaways throughout the 1960s. It ‘starts and rides very well’ and comes with lots of history and a current V5C. Perfect for an older delinquent!
