FRIENDS REUNITED

-

I thought you might be interested in these two motorcycles; a 1937 AJS Model 22 and a Royal Enfield Model B which has been converted to a Model S. I’ve owned the AJS for nine years and the RE for seven months.

I was looking for a kickstart lever for an Enfield Crusader on Hitchcocks’ website when to my great surprise I saw the 1937 Model B for sale, registration number DKH 916 – just two numbers different to my AJS!

I kept looking at the photo – I really didn’t need another bike, the garage was full. But a week later I decided I really must buy it. When the RE was delivered I was delighted to see it had the same brass trade plate on the mudguard, from Jordan’s of Hull. They might have been side by side in the shop.

Both bikes lived most of their lives in Lincolnshire.

Brilliant story! I’m glad you gave in to temptation, too. Frank W
