THIS MONTH we’ve been reading REVELATION SPACE by Alastair Reynolds (because there’s a new book out in the series!); RATIONALITY by Steven Pinker (the podcast Think With Pinker is excellent, also); How To Make The World Add Up by Tim Harford (him from Radio4’s More Or Less); CONVICTION, DECEPTION and EQUILIBRIUM, all by Glynn Stewart (one of us is having a bingefest of space opera!)…
MEANWHILE AT THE MOVIES… the MATRIX RESURRECTIONS wasn’t as dreadful as it could’ve been but MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN was flat-out fab: Ed Norton being simply brilliant as an afflicted detective in 1950s New York. We’ve been whiling away the winter evenings with TRUE DETECTIVE and admit that no one can quite live up to the inspired pairing of Mcconaughey and Harrelson in S1, but Vince Vaughan in S2 is scarily impressive. And the least said about THE GREEN KNIGHT, the better…
