STABILISERS

-

I run a Ducati Sebring and Kawasaki W800. For many years I have used Ethanolmate as a fuel stabiliser (other brands are available…). I have not had any problems with petrol tanks or carburettors after over-wintering. I run the Ducati on E5 with stabiliser while the Kawasaki runs on either. These are my own findings: other people may agree or not.

I do find information on doses for E10 quite sketchy; maybe one of the additive companies might comment?

I’ve used a couple of stabilisers, one from a famous motorcycle brand and t’other from the company who made our lawnmower. The price difference is interesting. Whether they actually work I cannot say, but I’ve had no problems with the bikes (and mower) that I used them with. I’ve had a couple of horrible experiences with old fuel, but that’s very old fuel, of course, and a stabiliser wouldn’t help now.
