SEAL THAT LEAK!
I’m experimenting with solutions to seal the notorious Norton primary chaincase and am cautiously optimistic about this Everbuild Tecnic joint backer rod. It’s polyethylene, which resists most chemicals. When cut to length it can be joined into a ring using superglue, and it is softer and springier than the original rubber. So far, there’s no leaks from my worst-fitting chaincase on my Dommi. I had to cut my 15mm in half with scissors to get it in. It’s a filthy job and not easy to do with exhaust pipe and sidestand in the way.
It’s cheaper than belt drive, but I’m a little concerned about the long term survival of neoprene in oil, after I tried a foam rubber type some years ago. Time will tell.
