STANDING OVATION
My Honda CB250RS has never had a centrestand, so I recently resolved this. The spring anchor lug was missing so I drilled the frame and put a bolt through. I then bought a stand through ebay but the foot-press ‘pedal’ was missing. So I got a friend to weld on an old tyre lever in its place. Then the other end of the tyre lever was welded to the opposite side on as a bump stop, so the stand doesn’t touch the chain.
To fit the spring, I developed an idea to save skinned knuckles and bad language. As you will see from the photo, it’s a very controlled method. My only error was to not cut a slot in the spring bracket to allow it to be removed once the spring was hooked in placed. More bad language but I got there in the end!
