Use a glazed Internal screen

-

A partition between rooms doesn’t have to be a solid wall. A glazed version can help the rooms either side feel bigger as you can see more from both. The extra light coming into each room will also have a space-enhancing effect reflecting off pale surfaces. Consider this for rooms leading off a hallway, for example. Alternatively, use it to make what is known as a ‘broken-plan’ layout, creating separate areas for different activities without compromising the open feel and contemporary look. Clear glass can be used, as well as framed screens which have an on-trend industrial look and make a stylish feature as well as a functional addition. If you opt for the latter, don’t just think black frames – a coloured finish from subtle neutral to bold bright is also doable. As a guide to cost, IQ Glass offers frameless clear-glass partitions at around £360 per square metre; its industrial-look, Mondrian-style partition with aluminium frame at around £960 per square metre; and welded steel-framed Mondrian internal partition at £1,560 per square metre, all including design and installation.
