Real Homes - - Advertorial -

Whether you’re looking to update your entire kitchen or bathroom, or simply want to inject some colour with a feature wall, tiles are a great way to rejuvenate your space. With that in mind, Topps Tiles is excited to announce its first ever Tile of the Year, in collaboration with interior designer and TV presenter Sophie Robinson. The award is all about embracing the future of interiors and earmarking the very best and most stylish in tile design for 2019.

The tile taking this title for the first time is Lampas Peacock, a beautifully decadent brick-shaped tile in a deep and rich shade of warming teal. Featuring distressed edging and a glossy finish, this tile was chosen by a panel of specialist design experts, who continually analyse emerging trends from the world of interiors, as well as the nation’s evolving décor needs and wants.

The new trends for 2019 are all about embracing strong, opulent yet comforting styles that will make people feel as though they’re cocooned in a safe space – it’s about making an atmosphere that’s gentle yet rich in aesthetic interest. This teal tile will create an inviting palette to complement any room, especially when paired with other touches of nature such as wood grain or stone, for a truly welcoming environment.

Topps Tiles has worked with Sophie Robinson to explore how to use this bold colour to create a variety of styles, looking at up-and-coming interior trends to demonstrate how Lampas Peacock fits perfectly into any scheme. ‘People are keeping their properties longer, choosing to renovate rather than relocate,’ says Sophie. ‘It means stamping a sense of your own personal style on your home is fashionable once again, so dare to be different!’

It’s not just the stunning tiles that can make a statement – this teal shade looks amazing when paired with a bold pink grout and brass trims. These finishing touches can completely transform a tiling project and bring instant wow-factor to your space.
