An ex-pupil made life hell for a Lincolnshire driving instructor.
Bob Coughtrey helped Donna Hartley, 29, to pass her driving test in just six weeks in June 2017.
But she quickly messaged him, saying she wished she had failed the test so that they could spend more time together.
She began texting, calling and even turning up at his home.
She asked to meet and hug him, and texted him saying, I don’t want to hurt you, but you can hurt me.
When Bob didn’t reply, she threatened self-harm and visited his home, saying she’d kill herself. Bob called the police, and Hartley was arrested in August 2017.
She got a restraining order plus eight weeks in jail, suspended for 18 months.
But she then told her psychiatrist that she wanted to hold Bob hostage, torture him with a knife and kill him!
She was given another jail sentence of 16 weeks, suspended for two years.
‘While she walks free, I don’t feel safe,’ said Bob. ‘I’m always on edge in public, looking for a safe place and quick exit.’
