Bob’s big treasure hunt!

Real People - - OUR MAD WORLD! -

gorgeous vibrant vase was a quid in a charity shop. I really liked it so I snapped it up. It has the word Whitefriars on the base. Do you reckon my £1 was money well spent? Jan Bell, North London

The Whitefriars Glass factory dates from 1834 to 1980 and there’s been a revival of interest in its wares, especially iconic, brightly coloured 1960s pieces, like this one by Geoffrey Baxter. Your vase isn’t the ‘Drunken Bricklayer’ or ‘Banjo’ (his most famous designs), but it is from this era. You’ve bagged a bargain, Jan – your vase should be worth around £50 at an appropriate auction!
