Real People’s resident ‘doggie doctor’, Nigel, answers your pet’s problems

Real People - - MUM TO MUM -

Dear Nigel,

My owner is unlucky in love, and has decorated her flat with a mistletoe in the hope of enticing some chap back for a kiss. Forget her love life –

I’m thinking about my tummy, and those white berries look delicious!

Love, Bob the Boston Terrier, Newark, Notts

Dear Bob,

Sadly, plants like holly, poinsettia and mistletoe are poisonous for us pets and could prove fatal. Ask your owner to use an artificial mistletoe instead – if she does have any gentleman callers, you vomiting all over them certainly won’t create the right mood for a romantic evening!
