Luxury content director, The Sunday Times and editor-in-chief, The Sunday Times Style

Ihaven’t radically changed my look since joining The Sunday Times earlier this year, but I am more careful about making an impact when I enter a room. I still attend fashion meetings and shows, but I also go to news conferences every day and present to the board – I’m mindful I’m addressing a different audience now.

I change what I wear to fit the occasion. I might wear an ‘off-shoulder’ trend to the office, but I’ll change if lunch with Rupert Murdoch is in the diary. I don’t have time to put outfits together in the morning (I have to get four children out of the door), so I plan my weekday outfits on Sunday night. Unless there’s a dramatic change in weather or events, I stick to the plan.

My style is pretty minimal. My go-to outfit is a black trouser suit with a blouse and I have more white shirts than Mark Zuckerberg does grey T-shirts.

I also love jumpsuits and wore a black one by Red Valentino on my first day at The Times. Accessory wise, I like a bit of red lipstick (Coral Sunset by Victoria Beckham) and a small cross-body bag. I nearly always wear flat shoes, certainly nothing higher than a kitten heel.

I like to be efficient.

I do two shopping trips a season. Working in fashion, I’m in a privileged position because by the time collections get into store, I’ve already seen most of them and I am lucky to be able to go shopping with designers – Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller is a friend. I love Giles and See by Chloé blouses, Roland Mouret coats and some Rejina Pyo tailoring for autumn. Before I started my new job, I bought a black Chanel wool dress that I’ve worn to so many things and will keep forever. I’m also a fan of Self-portrait, Saloni and Zimmermann. Topshop and

H&M have great pieces, too. I love Zara, but have to be careful as I don’t want to walk into a room wearing the same thing as everyone else. I encourage my team to think about what they’re wearing, too. I feel people should be smart, groomed and know who the designers are. Good clothes help define who you are. I take great joy in getting dressed and I wish more women had the confidence to make an impact with what they wear. I take pride in taking compliments on my outfits – it is my job after all.
