The jewellery world’s latest style icon has actually been around a long time. ‘We were inspired by strong women of the Renaissance period,’ says Alessandro Filippo Ficarelli, who, alongside fellow designer Francesco Terzo, has just taken over the creative helm at Pandora. ‘We looked at portraits of women like Elizabeth I and loved the way they adorned themselves with layers of chains, pearls and stacks of midi rings. It actually looks super-modern.’ Cue a stylish new A/W collection for Pandora, with delicate rings and necklaces full of Renaissance symbols like crowns, keys and wheat grains, plus shimmering Milanese chain bracelets with tiny customisable charms. Le classique, c’est chic.
