SPECIAL MOMENTS

When our December issue hit the shelves, we received some heartwarming letters from longstanding readers. One of them was Emma Molineaux-inglis, who attached a picture of her Red Christmas issue collection.

She wrote, ‘As an avid reader of many years, I eagerly look forward to your Christmas issue. I keep these copies and they become my winter go-to, because no matter what is fashionable you always show timeless style and elegance which transcends the decades.

‘From my first Nigella copy in 2008 to this month’s spectacular edition, I am never disappointed. I know that I have a reliable source to guide me through what can become the festive food, drink, beauty, fashion and wellbeing minefield! You have guided me through cooking my first adult Christmas dinner and given me the confidence to wrap presents with flair. During the financial crash I wrapped gifts in pages of the Financial Times with toy-shop bank notes as gift tags. This year we have brown-paper packages tied up

with string so we are not impacting the planet. Of course we still need some Red glamour so each gift also has a tree decoration and a Polaroid of the recipient as keepsakes!

‘So, thank you again. You help me to strive daily to live my best life and I am enormously grateful.’

June Phillips also shared some lovely words.

She wrote, ‘I am delighted to admit I have been buying Red since your second publication! I am now in my fifties and still enjoy the magazine. It’s held my interest and entertained me from cover to cover each month. I haven’t married or had children, but I feel Red has remained steadfast in entertaining its loyal readers as we age (gracefully!) while still welcoming newbies and younger readers. Thank you Red. I love the sight of my magazine on the doormat each month – and the excuse to curl up on the sofa to enjoy the read!’

And thank you all for reading Red in 2018 – we can’t wait to show you what we have in store this year…

@jasmine_downs If I could live in the pages of this magical issue of @Redmagdaily, I would. Ultimate comfort and joy, with practical advice on how to spread goodwill further by giving back. ‘Magic is to be found among the dropped stitches, not the perfect bows.’
