Clever tips straight from the runway
We’ve been layering gold pendants for a while now, but this season it’s all about long chains. The extra length makes them easier to wear with the latest hero shirt trends: pussy bows and ruffle detailing. FYI, they should be so long that they almost hit your waistband.
It’s time to dig out your snake-print leather knee-highs and old skinny jeans (yes, the skinny is back) because they’re having a revival. This winter, the ultimate pairing is a retro-blue wash in a slim-fit silhouette tucked inside your boots, for true relaxed Seventies style. The more worn-in your jeans, the better.
Belts are big news, adding feminine edge to everything, including utility pieces. Try cinching in your boiler suit, nipping in your blazer and belting up your puffa.
Black sheer tights are making shorter lengths feel much more wearable, while adding that elusive French-girl allure to everything. A thin mid-thighlength coat worn buttoned up like a dress with pointed toe pumps is the fashion sweet spot. But for something less daunting, team your mini skirt or dress with an oversized blazer.
You can’t get through winter without a skinny rollneck. Wear it under shirts, maxi dresses (this will extend the life of your summer favourites) and slouchy cardigans or sweaters.
Diamonds really are a girl’s best friend, as the classic ‘dad’ golf sweater becomes the coolest item in your wardrobe. Take inspiration from Victoria Beckham’s collection and wear it fitted and cropped with a pencil skirt and pointed collar shirt.
